What is a DPI Print Size Calculator?

How does the DPI print size calculator work?

It divides your image's pixel dimension by the print resolution you want: inches = pixels ÷ DPI. A 3000-pixel edge printed at 300 DPI, for example, comes out at 10 inches. Run it on the width and height separately to get the full print size.

What DPI should I print at?

300 DPI is the standard benchmark for crisp photo and fine-detail prints viewed up close. Large posters and wall art can drop to 150 DPI or lower because they're viewed from further away, where the eye can't resolve individual dots. Check your printer's or lab's recommendation for the product.

What's the difference between DPI and PPI?

PPI (pixels per inch) describes the digital image's resolution, while DPI (dots per inch) describes how many ink dots a printer lays down.
